Apperance:
White crystals. Stable in air than ferrous chloride tetrahydrate. But may also be air-oxidized yellow. Soluble in water, alcohol and acetic acid, slightly soluble in acetone, insoluble in ether. Soluble in water turns green solution.
Purpose:
Direct for sewage, waste water management, as a reducing agent and a mordant, widely used in textile printing and dyeing industry, but also for the high pressure oil component. Also used in medicine, metallurgy and photography.
